Bandana Doggy Walk 2015
Bright eyed and bushy tailed are Janet Walsh with Socks and Folly, Debbie Muller of Petwise / Westville Vet Clinic and Allison Ekstrand of The Sunflower Fund as they gear up for the 2nd Annual Bandana Doggy Fun Walk.
This fun, family, outdoor event will take place on Sunday 10th October at the Westville Civic Centre Scout Bowl, 1 William Lester Drive starting at 9am. Entrance costs only R50, which includes dog and owner, and R30 per additional dog or person. Entrance includes a trendy 2015 Sunflower Bandana and the first 100 entries will also receive a free goodie bag so pre-registration is highly recommended. Registration will also take place on the day between 8am and 9am.
Only socialised dogs on leashes will be allowed entry and wastage bags will be provided for owners to pick up after their pets. Fun, food and entertainment is the order of the morning and people and furry friends of all ages, colours, and fitness levels are welcome.
All proceeds will go to The Sunflower Fund to pay for the education and tissue typing costs of adding more potential bone marrow stem cell donors onto The South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) which will directly give hope to patients living with leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders.
The 12th of October is National Bandana Day, The Sunflower Fund’s biggest national fundraising and awareness campaign of the year, when all South Africans are encouraged to wear their Sunflower Bandanas to show solidarity for cancer patients who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy.
